Over Recordings is an Underground House Music Label based in Brighton (UK).

The label is all about fresh ideas and quality material but still keeping it real. There are producers in this industry that have excellent original material but have not had the opportunity for the right exposure. These are Over Recordings priority – not just working with the ‘known’ but indeed those that deserve to be known.

Over Recordings, created by Alex Over, is run by a young, experienced and knowledgeable team, who strive to bring out the best in their artists. Their first release, ‘Freedom’, which was produced by Alex himself, was backed by the stellar remixes from Rob Small and Ross Richards (Tug Underground).

Freedom was released back in 2012. Even before the release date it was played on radio stations across Europe, and the USA, as well as being featured on the home page of Germany’s DJ Mag, who gave it a massive 8 out of 10. Alongside Maya Jane Coles, DJ Kicks Mix review Alex was also asked to do a guest mix for Ibiza Sonica Radio. In addition full support of this unique and diverse EP has also come from Seth Troxler, Dubfire, M.A.N.D.Y, Terry Francis, Ian Pooley, Collin Dale, Xpress 2, to name but a few.

Now we are further down the line with Over Recordings we have seen releases / remixes / artists feature such as Jamie Anderson, Rob Small, Ross Richards, Al Bradley from 3AM Recordings, Shades of Gray man Owen Howells. Josh Butler, Michael Scott, Pav Parrote and Ryan Pamatmat.

Alex Over has been building his reputation as a young and fresh addition to the DJ scene in the UK. Alex has performed at venues such as Coalition Brighton, Ministry of Sound, Cargo, The Lightbox, Raduno and Gigulum and now his residency at Audio (Brighton) He has an intense passion and drive for electronic music, constantly analyzing and updating his music knowledge. This has given him the experience, inspiration, drive and insight to acknowledge quality music when he hears it. It has enabled him to develop his own imprint.

For our new podcast series called ‘Overcast’ Josh Butler was our first featured artist. It featured artists already on the label, and, artists who were joining the label later on together with special guest mixes. Overcasts features every month.

Over Recordings future projects in 2013 has a massive list of exciting material waiting be released.
